My Pipes

Stanwell Zebrano - a freehand shape; sort of a combination calabash and horn. Thick walls - dedicated to Virginia blends.

American Smoking Pipe (Tinsky) Big Boy - a large, thick pipe. Great smoker; a favorite.

Polo Bentmore - My wife, Barbara, bought this for me in England when we were 18 (3 years before we were married). It is still one of my favorites.

Gourd Calabash
-
Great, cool smoker. Does wonders with hot and harsh Virginias!

Savinelli Virginia - full-bent Oom Paul shape. Contrary to its name, I smoke English blends in this one.

Tinsky Large Rhodesian - Mark Tinsky makes extraordinary pipes, including this fabulous Rhodesian. This picture was taken before it's first smoke.

Savinelli Andrea - This author is a great one for Esoterica Penzance and Margate - two of my favorite English blends.

Ed Burak bent bulldog - Given to me by a friend, this thick-walled pipe with a relatively small chamber is great for Virginia blends.

Tim West freehand - Another good smoker and quite comfortable o hold.

Aldo Velani Executive - A large, thick-walled pipe that feels solid and smokes well. Love the gold and silver toned ferrules.

Aldo Velani Octagon - It took a while to break this one in, but it has been a good smoker ever since.

Savoy Gold - This Canadian shape is a decent smoker and comes up in my rotation regularly.

Stanwell Royal Prince - Nothing spectacular to say - just a decent estate pipe that sees some action fairly regularly.

Savinelli Iwan Reis - A nice billiard with one of my favorite style bits - the thin, comfortable saddle bit.

Kirsten Horizon - Kirsten pipes are quite unique (as you can see). They smoke cool and dry and are easy to clean - just not very traditional in looks.

Vest Pipes - These folding pocket pipes are a bit harsh to smoke and therefore don't see much action - but they are certainly a conversation piece. Barbara bought me the one on the left at the same time she bought the Polo above.

Assortment- Some of my no-name or lesser known brands of pipes.

Corncob - What pipe collection would be complete without a "Missouri Meerschaum"?

Clay Tavern Pipe - I don't smoke this - it was a gift and is for display only. To read about the history of these pipes, click here.

I bought this Colibri "pen-style" pipe lighter several years ago. It is easy to handle and use and is a favorite of mine. The built-in tamper on the end is handy.

The Bentley pipe lighter only costs $8 to $10 and is refillable. It has a very functional swing-out tamper. I have 3 or 4 of these - I keep one in my jeans pocket, one in my coat, one on the top of the Pipe Cabinet...
